Operational Discipline behind AI

Leading Forward: A monthly perspective on leadership, innovation, and the evolving intersection of insurance, law, technology, and data.
One theme keeps coming up in industry conversations right now:
AI.
Every conference panel.
Every article.
Every strategy discussion.
And for good reason. The potential is enormous.
But as someone who spends most of my time in the operational engine rooms of organizations, I often find myself thinking about a different question:
Are we operationally ready for the technology we’re so excited about?
Because AI doesn’t fix broken processes.
It scales them.
If workflows are inconsistent…
If data isn’t structured…
If teams operate in silos…
Technology won’t solve those problems. It will simply amplify them.
The organizations that will truly benefit from AI won’t necessarily be the ones adopting it first.
They will be the ones with the strongest operational foundations.
Clear processes.
Clean data.
Aligned teams.
Disciplined execution.
Only then can technology unlock its full potential.
From my vantage point working across both an insurtech platform and a law firm, I see enormous opportunity ahead. But the real transformation won’t come from technology alone.
It will come from the combination of:
Operational discipline + human expertise + intelligent technology.
That intersection is where real innovation happens.
Curious how others are thinking about operational readiness as AI continues to evolve across our industry.
